How your information is handled

What this site collects

If you book an appointment or send an enquiry, the site stores the name, phone number, email address and message you provide, so the clinic can respond. Nothing else is collected about you.

Measurement

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It records the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. It does not record your name, and it is not connected to anything you type into the appointment form.

The practice advertises on Google, Facebook and Instagram. So that it can tell which adverts bring people here, both companies are told when a page on this site is opened — Google through the same tag as the analytics above, and Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, through a piece of its code called a pixel that runs on every page.

Worth saying plainly, because it is a medical site: the pages here are about particular conditions and operations, so which of them you open is itself information about you, and it is those page addresses that are being shared. Neither company is sent your name, your phone number, or anything you type into the appointment form.

If you would rather not be counted, most browsers have a “do not track” or tracking-protection setting, and browser extensions that block analytics and advertising trackers work on this site like any other. Nothing on the site stops working if you use one.

What it does not do

Apart from the measurement above, nothing on this site reports you to anyone. Fonts, images and stylesheets are all served from this website rather than from someone else's, so loading a page does not announce you to a third party.

Videos work the same way. The thumbnails are stored here, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube applies its own privacy policy.

Please do not send scans, reports or detailed medical history through the enquiry form. Bring those to your consultation instead.
