Supporting Seniors, Transforming Lives
Dr. Karmakar spoke at this public awareness initiative on healthy ageing, presented by Manipal Hospitals in association with The Times of India. The session addressed how bone and joint problems progress in older adults, which symptoms should not be dismissed as ordinary age-related aches, and when joint replacement becomes worth considering.
A recurring question from the audience: how long a replaced joint lasts, and whether an older patient is ever “too old” for surgery. The answer, in most cases, is that general health matters far more than age.
